Towing a vehicle from the rear (with the rear wheels lifted)

Before towing, always unlock the steering wheel with the ignition key.
Then secure the steering wheel with a steering wheel clamping device, which has been specially designed for towing service.
Reason: The anti-theft steering column lock is not strong enough to withstand shocks transmitted from the wheels while towing.
When the ignition key is not available, DO NOT tow from the rear, serious damage to vehicle systems will result.
