Door, rear lid and sunroof switches overview

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 27 other vehicles, including the 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio, 2001 Volkswagen Cabrio, 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio, 1999 Volkswagen Jetta, and 1999 Volkswagen Golf. CAUTION: Before working on the electrical system:
  • Obtain radio anti-theft code.
  • Ignition OFF !
  • Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.
NOTE: After reconnecting battery:
  • Activate vehicle equipment such as radio, clock and power windows as per Repair Manual and/or Owner's Manual.
  • On vehicles equipped with OBD II, activate readiness code. See READINESS CODE, CREATING in appropriate ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) .
NOTE: The following list refers to items in Fig 1.
  1. - Sunroof switch -E8- 
  2. - Left rear window switch -E52- 
  3. - Luggage compartment light switch -F5- 
  4. - Left front door contact switch -F2- 
  5. - Left front power window switch -E40- 
  6. - Mirror adjustment switch -E43 - with mirror selector switch -E48 -
