Front seat belts, removing and installing (vehicles with airbag): Notes

WARNING:
Different procedures apply for airbag-equipped vehicles that are also equipped with emergency tensioning seat belt retractors:

- - Belt height adjustment fitting
- Removing, refer to SEAT BELT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT FITTINGS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- - Belt guide
- Secured with two Phillips- head screws
- Tightening torque: 1.5 N.m (13 in. lb) (trim removed)
- Mounting position determined by retaining lugs
- Tightening torque (hex bolt): 40 N.m (30 ft lb)
- - Belt reel
- To remove belt reel, first remove trim at top and bottom of B-pillar, and remove sill panel trim
- - Front anchor
- Removing, 2-door, refer to Removing anchor rail (2-door) .
- Removing, 4-door, refer to Removing front anchor (4-door) .
- To remove, first remove sill panel
- - Belt buckle
- Removing and installing, refer to Removing and installing belt buckle .
CAUTION: Very Important! There are two different types of front anchor -4- depending on whether the vehicle is 2-door or 4-door.
