Checking function

- Shift lever must rest in 3rd/4th shift gate when transmission is in neutral.
- Operate clutch
- Shift through all gears several times. Pay particular attention to function of reverse gear lock.
Should a gear fail to engage smoothly after repeated selection, the adjustment must be checked:
Secure shift lever as follows:
- Select neutral on shift lever.
- Guide pin T10027 through hole - A - into hole - B -.
- Selector shaft must have moved downward direction of - arrow 1 -.
- To check if shift mechanism is correctly adjusted, have second technician attempt to push locking pin - A - into transmission direction of ( - arrow - ) and thus into selector shaft gate.
- If this cannot be accomplished, adjust shift mechanism → Shift mechanism, adjusting in transmissions with lock bolts (up to transmission manufacture date 180503) .
