Airbag control module, coding using VAG 1551 Scan Tool

Coding is only possible with a new airbag control module.

Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) -K75 - lights up continuously.

Indicated on the display (example shown) is the airbag control module identification number with the applicable index letter, code number and dealer code.

If so, the coding has been completed successfully.

If not:

The airbag control module was not correctly programmed with the applicable vehicle data. Coding is no longer possible. The Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) will come on and stay on continuously.

Check whether the correct airbag control module was installed (compare Part No. and identification number), or whether an incorrect dealer number was entered.

The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) -K75 - must go out after not more than 4 seconds.
