  • Unclip front section of trim - - horizontally from instrument cluster.

  • If only the glove compartment is to be removed, center console must be removed first because bolt - - is otherwise not accessible.

NOTE:
  • The Radio Release Tool 3316 must not be pushed to the side or tilted during procedure.
  • To remove Radio Release Tool 3316 , the side tabs on radio unit must be pushed in.

  • Due to high spring forces, do not use screwdriver to remove control switches for ESP, indicator light and rear window defroster.

  • Cover - - can also be secured by the clips.
CAUTION: Observe safety precautions for working on airbags → Safety precautions for work on airbags  .
CAUTION: Electrostatic discharges can lead to an unintended deployment of the airbag. Therefore the technician must discharge static electricity from the body before separating the ignition and ground wiring. This is done e.g. by briefly touching the body or the door striker or pin.
