Power steering gear right hand drive, assembly overview

Power steering gear is not serviceable. If complaints are received, determine cause with the help of pressure tests, leak test and Guided fault finding. If a malfunction exists replace power steering gear.

NOTE:

Replace self-locking nuts and bolts. Welding and straightening work on steering components is not permitted.
Only use steering gear grease AOF 063 000 04 to grease the rack
Replace self-locking nuts and bolts.
Type of fluid: Hydraulic fluid G 002 000

System oil capacity: 0,7... 0.9 l

Torque specifications for

Tie rod ball joint to wheel bearing housing
Lock nut on tie rod
Tie rod at steering gear
Steering gear to subframe

are the same for left and right-hand drive steering gear

They are not shown on the following illustration.

2 - Hex head bolt, 24 Nm

6 - Banjo bolt, 38 Nm

Installed location

Arrow on clamp points forward
Replace if threads in welded nut are damaged
