Power steering gear left hand drive, assembly overview
Power steering gear is not serviceable. If complaints are received, determine cause with the help of pressure tests, leak test and Guided fault finding. If a malfunction exists replace power steering gear.
- Replace self-locking nuts and bolts. Welding and straightening work on steering components is not permitted.
- Only use steering gear grease AOF 063 000 04 to grease the rack
- Replace self-locking nuts and bolts.
- Type of fluid: Hydraulic fluid G 002 000
- System oil capacity: 0.7 to 0.9 l
1 - Tie rod end
Modification:
Modified tie rod ball joints → Modified tie rod ball joints
- Is installed from below on R32
- Application see Parts catalog
- With the R32, after pressing out the tie rod end, press the socket back into tie rod arm For R32 under Power steering gear, removing and installing
2 - Hex nut, 50 Nm
3 - Clamp
- Replace
- Tightening
4 - Boot
- Must not be twisted when adjusting rod
- Remove steering gear to replace
5 - Clamp
- Replace
- Tightening
6 - Tie rod
- 75 Nm

- Arrow on clamp points forward
- Replace if threads in welded nut are damaged

14 - Hex head bolt, 24 Nm
