Rear spoiler, retrofitting (Jetta)
- Place 50 mm (2 in.) wide strip of adhesive tape on center of rear lid.
- Determine center line -1- of rear lid using tape measure and mark on adhesive tape.
- Mark line -2- on adhesive tape at left and right of center line -1-.
Dimension -a- = 335 +/- 0.5 mm (13.19 +/- 0.20 in.)
- Mark position of holes on line -2-.
- Dimension -b- = 415 +/- 0.5 mm (16.34 +/- 0.020 in.)
- Dimension -c- = 371 +/- 0.5 mm (14.61 +/- 0.020 in.)
- Carefully center (0.295 in.) punch holes and drill out with 7.5 mm drill bit.
- Remove burrs from holes.
- If necessary, rework holes slightly using round file to fit rear spoiler.NOTE: The paint structure must be restored and, if necessary, anti-corrosion measures carried out.
- After completing painting/corrosion protection measures, place rubber gaskets and spoiler on rear lid.
- From inside rear lid, install left and right reinforcements -1-, with longer edge toward outside of vehicle.
- Remove fitting aid -3- and tighten hex nuts -2-.
Tightening torque: 4 N.m (35 in. lb)
