Driver's airbag unit, removing and installing up to 02.98: Notes
NOTE:

- - Plug
- - Airbag unit
- - Combi-nut
- 50 N.m (37 ft lb)
- - Bolt
- 6.5 N.m (58 in. lb)
- Always replace
- - Bottom part of trim
- - Foam tube

WARNING:
Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap before working on electrical system.
NOTE:
- Removal and installation procedures may have to be modified slightly depending on equipment.
- Obtain radio code before disconnecting battery.
- After reconnecting battery, ensure vehicle equipment (radio, clock, electric windows) are checked per Owner's manual.
- Turn steering wheel -1- to center position (wheels in straight-ahead position).
- Remove bolts -5- 6.5 N.m (58 in. lb). Remove airbag unit -3- from steering wheel and disconnect red connector -2- from airbag unit.
