Airbag Control Module -J234-, removing and installing

NOTE: Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap before removing Airbag Control Module -J234-.

Remove center console. See CENTER CONSOLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Remove footwell air outlet:
See HEATING AND VENTILATION SYSTEM, SERVICING .
If necessary, make cut in carpeting and soundproofing in area of Airbag Control Module -J234- bracket.
Move bar -2- in opposite direction of arrow and pull connector -3- out of Control Module -1-.
Remove nuts -4- and remove Control Module with bracket from studs, nut -4- 20 N.m (15 ft lb).
