No DTCs present.

Check wiring by visual inspection only.

Ensure connectors are seated and secure while observing display. If display changes to "correct", erase DTC memory.

Too low

Remove igniter connector from airbag unit.

Display changes to "too high".

Replace airbag unit.

Display remains on "too low".

Disconnect connector on Spiral spring with slip ring.

Display Changes to "too high".

Replace Spiral spring with slip ring.

Display remains on "too low".

Replace wiring harness.

Too high

Remove igniter connector from airbag unit
Connect igniter connector on inert igniter VAS 5056. See Test box VAS 5056 .

Display changes to "correct".

Replace airbag unit

Display changes to "too high".

Remove connector between wiring harness and Spiral spring with slip ring.
Connect test box VAS 5056 to driver's circuit instead of Spiral spring with slip ring. See Test box VAS 5056 .

Display changes to "correct".

Replace Spiral spring with slip ring.

Display remains on "too high".

Press button on VAS 5056

Display changes to "too high".

Replace wiring harness.

Front passenger's airbag igniter -N131-

Correct

No DTCs present

To ground

Check wiring by visual inspection only.

To Positive

While watching display, check that connections are seated and. If display changes to "correct", erase DTC memory.

Too low

Disconnect connector between wiring harness and adapter cable to airbag unit.

Too high

Display changes to "too high".

Replace airbag unit.

Display remains on "too low".

Replace wiring harness.
Connect test box VAS 5056 to passenger's circuit. See Test box VAS 5056 .
Press button on VAS 5056.

Display changes to "too low".

Replace airbag unit.

Display remains on "too high".

Replace wiring harness.

Igniter driver's belt tensioner -N153-⁽¹⁾

Visual Check of Wiring.
Watch display and check connector of appropriate current circuit for correct engagement and tight fit. If the display changes to "correct", erase DTC memory
Replace driver's/front passenger's belt tensioner.
