Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) table

NOTE:
  • The following table lists all DTCs, with corresponding 5-digit code numbers, that can be recognized by the Airbag Control Module -J234- and printed out by the VAG 1551 Scan Tool.
  • DTC codes appear only on the print-out.
  • Some DTC texts (descriptions) will show only if the VAS 5051 is used. With V.A.G 1551, these DTCs will show only the DTC and not the descriptive text.
  • The possible DTCs are dependent on the current configuration of the vehicle.
  • Before replacing a component shown as inoperative, check all related wiring and connections to the component as well as Ground (GND) connections according to wiring diagram.
  • Ensure all relays are seated securely.
  • After repairs, DTC memory must be checked again with the VAG 1551 or VAS 5051 Scan Tool and erased.
  • The DTC type may also appear in the DTC table.
