Airbag On Board Diagnostic (OBD), initiating
- Connecting scan tool, refer to SCAN TOOL, CONNECTING VAG1551 OR VAS5051 .
- Switch on printer with PRINT button (warning lamp in button lights up).
- Switch on ignition.
- Press button -1- for "Rapid data transfer" mode.
Indicated on display:
- Press buttons -1- and -5- (address word of vehicle system to be tested "Airbag" is entered with 15).
Indicated on display:
- Confirm entry with -Q- button.
NOTE:
- If a DTC opposite appears in display, possible causes can be printed out with HELP button.
- Ignition must be switched on
- DTCs have occurred at the start of or during program (external sources of DTCs?).
- Check Data Link Connector as well as voltage supply and ground connection.
- After correcting DTC causes enter address word 15 for "Airbag" and confirm with -Q- button.
