Disassembly (Vanagon)

  1. Remove brake pads and noise damping plates as previously described. Clamp mounting flange in soft-jawed vise. Remove dust boot and retainer, if equipped.
  2. Place Clamp (US 1023/5) on 1 piston. Insert wooden block in caliper. Blow compressed air into brake hose opening to force other piston out of caliper bore. Repeat procedure for remaining piston. Remove piston seals without damaging bore.
