Overhaul - 091 & 094: Description
The transaxle assembly is a 2-piece unit containing both the transaxle and final drive. The transaxle and final drive are assembled in one section and clutch is housed in second section.
The transaxle is mounted at rear of vehicle and engine is mounted to rear of transaxle. Gears are in constant mesh in all forward gears. The final drive, mounted between transaxle and engine, uses a hypoid ring gear and pinion.
The rear axle unit is a double joint type, using Constant Velocity (CV) joints on both ends of axle drive shafts. Outer wheel bearings are mounted in a housing connected to control arm.
