Hydraulic Pressure Test

  1. Connect 0-150 psi (0-10 kg/cm2 ) pressure gauge to main pressure test point on case (adjacent to servo cover). See Fig 1 . Run engine until transaxle is at normal operating temperature. Place selector lever in "D". Run engine to over 30 MPH; release throttle and read pressure on gauge (with engine idling).
  2. NOTE: This test, as well as full throttle test performed next, should be carried out on dynamometer when possible.
  3. With transaxle in "D", run engine at full throttle (with vehicle speed above 30 MPH). Note pressure. With vehicle at rest, place selector lever in "R" position. Note reading on pressure gauge with engine idling. Pressures in each part of test should be as shown in MAIN PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS  table. If pressures obtained do not match those shown in chart, disassemble and clean valve body and check especially for sticking valves.
MAIN PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS

Application psi (kg/cm2 )
"D" @ Idle (1) 41-42 (2.9-3.0)
"D" @ Full Throttle (2) 83-84 (5.85-5.95)
"R" @ Idle (1) 131-138 (9.1-9.7)
(1) Test should be performed on a dynamometer whenever possible. Perform idle test with vehicle stationary.
(2) Full throttle test up to 30 MPH.
