Valve Body Assembly: Inspection
- Wash all parts in clean kerosene and dry them with compressed air only (do not use fluffy rags, etc.). Check all parts for burrs and scores; replace assembly if damage is found.
- When valves are clean and lubricated with fluid, they should fall freely of their own weight in respective bore; if not, check for valve or bore damage.CAUTION: Several valve body springs have similar dimensions; however, they must not be interchanged as they have different tolerances. See Fig 1 .
- Check all valve body springs for damage or collapsed coils.
- Take care not to disturb settings of adjusting screws, pressures affected by these screws can only be measured and adjusted accurately on a test stand.
