Engine, Manifolds, & Cylinder Head: Engine: Installation

  1. Installation procedure is reverse of removal. Check throw-out bearing for wear or roughness. Lubricate throw-out bearing and mainshaft splines lightly with high temperature grease. DO NOT  lubricate throw-out bearing guide sleeve.
  2. Replace all self-locking nuts used on engine mounts. Check and adjust accelerator cables and linkage. Replace coolant drain plug gaskets. Fill and bleed cooling system. See WATER PUMP  Installation. Make sure engine develops oil pressure after starting.
