Ignition Switch: Removal

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Remove steering wheel. See HORN PAD & STEERING WHEEL  . Remove upper and lower steering column switch trim covers.
  2. Disconnect ignition, turn signal and wiper switch harness connectors. Remove plastic spacer sleeve from steering column.
  3. Remove lock cylinder housing clamping bolt (6-mm sockethead bolt). Insert ignition key into lock cylinder, and turn key to unlock steering. Slide lock cylinder housing from steering column.
  4. Remove small Phillips screw retaining ignition switch. Remove ignition switch.
