Instrument Cluster: Removal

  1. Carefully pry the center dashboard grille up out of dashboard. Remove 4 screws along top of cluster hood. Remove the screw which holds the hood to bracket above switch panel. See Figure. Remove screw at each end of hood and lift hood up and off.
  2. Remove steering column covers. Loosen nuts on odometer trip reset and clock reset cables. Slide cables out of bracket slot under instrument cluster. Disconnect speedometer cable. Remove 4 cluster screws and pull panel out slightly. Unplug wiring and remove cluster.
    NOTE: Instruments can be removed by taking out 3 screws at top of cluster, then sliding out the lens and bezel. Remove instrument screw on back of panel and lift out instrument.
