- INSTALL NO. 1 TURBO WATER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the turbocharger sub-assembly is necessary.

- INSTALL INLET TURBO OIL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the turbocharger sub-assembly is necessary.

- INSTALL NO. 2 TURBO WATER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the turbocharger sub-assembly is necessary.

- INSTALL NO. 2 HEAT INSULATOR
HINT:
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the turbocharger sub-assembly is necessary.
- Install the No. 2 heat insulator.
- Tighten the screws.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- INSPECT THE COMPONENTS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF THE TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Check the outlet turbo oil pipe and inlet turbo oil pipe sub-assembly for contamination, obstruction and damage: clean or replace if necessary.
HINT:
If the outlet turbo oil pipe and/or inlet turbo oil pipe sub-assembly are heavily contaminated, we recommend changing the engine oil and the oil filter.
- Check the No. 1 turbo water pipe sub-assembly and No. 2 turbo water pipe sub-assembly for the turbocharger sub-assembly for contamination, obstruction and damage: clean or replace if necessary.
- Check all bolt connections and cable connections for correct fit.
- Check air cleaner for contamination and clean or replace as needed.
- Check correct functioning of ventilation hose.
- Check the outlet turbo oil pipe and inlet turbo oil pipe sub-assembly for contamination, obstruction and damage: clean or replace if necessary.
- INSTALL TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Check screw-in depth (A) of the upper stud bolt (1).
Standard
Dimension (A) = 30 mm (1.18 in.)
- Clean sealing surfaces (1) on the cylinder head sub-assembly.NOTE:
- Damage to the surface.
- The use of metal-cutting tools (e.g. emery cloth) to clean the surfaces can damage them and lead to leaks or engine damage.
- Do not use any metal-cutting tools.
- Replace exhaust manifold to head gaskets (1).
- Install the exhaust manifold to head gaskets (1) into the marked area.
- Clean sealing surfaces (1) on the turbocharger sub-assembly.NOTE:
- Damage to the surface.
- The use of metal-cutting tools (e.g. emery cloth) to clean the surfaces can damage them and lead to leaks or engine damage.
- Do not use any metal-cutting tools.
- Install the turbocharger sub-assembly (1).WARNING:
- Heavy component.
- Heavy components can lead to injury or damage.
- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.
- Thermal compensating elements of the turbocharger sub-assembly (1) or exhaust manifold should not be bent or deformed.
- Install the slide rail (1).
HINT:
Install slide rail (1) so that the part number is seen.
- Replace the nuts.
- Tighten nuts in sequence (1) to (7).
Torque
1st 10Nm 2nd 10Nm 3rd 16Nm 4th 16Nm 5th 16Nm - Make sure the thermal compensating elements (A) have not been damaged.
- Loosen nuts (1) and (2).
- Remove special tool 2 466 467 at the exhaust turbocharger (3).
- SST: 09290-WA020
- Loosen nuts (1) and (2).
- Remove special tool 2 466 467 at the exhaust turbocharger (3).
- SST: 09290-WA020
- Loosen screw (2).
- Remove the bracket (1) of the special tool 2 446 919 and set it aside.
- SST: 09290-WA010
- Release clamping lever (1) of the special tool 2 446 919 in the direction of arrow.
- SST: 09290-WA010
- Loosen screw (1).
- Remove special tool 2 446 919 at the turbocharger sub-assembly.
- SST: 09290-WA010
- Renew O-ring on the No. 1 turbo water pipe sub-assembly of the turbocharger sub-assembly.
- Feed in and install No. 1 turbo water pipe sub-assembly for the turbocharger sub-assembly (3).
- Tighten down screws.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf)
- Renew screws.
- Install turbocharger stay.
- Tighten down screws.
Torque: 19 N.m (194 kgf/cm, 14 ft.lbf)
- Check screw-in depth (A) of the upper stud bolt (1).
- CONNECT INLET TURBO OIL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Renew O-ring on the inlet turbo oil pipe sub-assembly of the turbocharger sub-assembly.
- Position inlet turbo oil pipe sub-assembly.
- Tighten down the screw.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf)
- CONNECT NO. 2 TURBO WATER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Tighten the screw on the holder of the No. 2 turbo water pipe sub-assembly.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf)
- Connect the coolant hose.
HINT:
The coolant return line must engage audibly.
- Tighten the screw on the holder of the No. 2 turbo water pipe sub-assembly.
