Removal [06/2020 - 11/2024]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE SYMBOL EMBLEM 

    HINT: 

    When removing the symbol emblem, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the back door outside garnish sub-assembly and symbol emblem using a heat light.

    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the back door outside garnish sub-assembly and symbol emblem excessively.

    1. Put protective tape around the symbol emblem.

    2. Insert piano wire between the back door outside garnish sub-assembly and symbol emblem.

      HINT: 

      Be careful of the boss positions.

      *b Piano Wire
      *c Boss Position
    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to the piano wire ends.
    4. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the symbol emblem to the back door outside garnish sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the back door outside garnish sub-assembly.

    5. Remove the symbol emblem.
    6. Remove the protective tape.
  2. REMOVE BACK DOOR NAME PLATE 

    HINT: 

    When removing the back door name plate, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the back door panel and back door name plate using a heat light.

    Standard

    Back Door Panel 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Back Door Name Plate 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the back door panel and back door name plate excessively.

    1. Put protective tape around the back door name plate.

    2. Insert piano wire between the back door panel and back door name plate.

    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to the piano wire ends.
    4. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the back door name plate to the back door panel.
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the back door panel.

    5. Remove the back door name plate.
    6. Remove the protective tape.
  3. REMOVE BACK DOOR NO. 3 NAME PLATE 

    HINT: 

    When removing the back door No. 3 name plate, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the back door panel and back door No. 3 name plate using a heat light.

    2. Insert piano wire between the back door panel and back door No. 3 name plate.

    4. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the back door No. 3 name plate to the back door panel.
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the back door panel.

    5. Remove the back door No. 3 name plate.
    6. Remove the protective tape.
  4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER NO. 2 NAME PLATE 

    HINT: 

    When removing the front fender No. 2 name plate, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the fender panel and front fender No. 2 name using a heat light.

    Fender Panel 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Front Fender No. 2 Name Plate 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    4. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the front fender No. 2 name plate to the fender panel.
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the fender panel.

    5. Remove the front fender No. 2 name plate.
    6. Remove the protective tape.
  5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER NO. 1 NAME PLATE 

    HINT: 

    When removing the front fender No. 1 name plate, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the fender panel and front fender No. 1 name using a heat light.
