Microphone Circuit [06/2020 - 10/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK MICROPHONE (OPERATION CHECK) 
    1. Enter the "Microphone Check" screen. Refer to Check Microphone in Operation Check.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [06/2020 - 10/2022]

    2. When a voice is input into the microphone, check that the microphone input level meter changes according to the input voice.

      OK

      Check result is normal.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G2 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the P20 map light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G2-25 (SNS2) - P20-6 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G2-23 (MACC) - P20-9 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      G2-21 (MIN+) - P20-8 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      G2-22 (MIN-) - P20-7 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      G2-25 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G2-23 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G2-21 (MIN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G2-22 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G2-24 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. CHECK RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the radio and display receiver assembly with the connector(s) still connected.

      (Radio and Display Receiver Assembly)

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2020 - 10/2022]

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G2-23 (MACC) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 4 to 6 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G2-24 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      G2-22 (MIN-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

    Result:

  4. CHECK MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (OUTPUT TO RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the map light assembly with the connector(s) still connected.

      (Map Light Assembly)

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2020 - ]

    2. Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 8 (MCO+) and 7 (MCO-) of the P20 map light assembly connector.
    3. Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below.
      Item Condition
      Measurement terminal P20-8 (MCO+) - P20-7 (MCO-)
      Tool setting 50 mV/DIV., 500 ms/DIV.
      Vehicle condition
      1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
      2. Sound is input to the map light assembly when the user is closer than 125 mm (4.92 in.) from the map light assembly sound holes.

      OK

      The waveform is similar to that shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      The oscilloscope waveform shown in the illustration is an example for reference only.

      Result

  5. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the map light assembly.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Map Light Assembly [Wire Harness Side])
      *b Component without harness connected
      (Map Light Assembly [Telephone Microphone Assembly Side])

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2020 - ]

    2. Disconnect the telephone microphone assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      6 (SNS2) - A-1 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      9 (MACC) - A-5 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      8 (MCO+) - A-3 (MIC+) Always Below 1 Ω
      7 (MCO-) - A-2 (MIC-) Always Below 1 Ω
      6 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      9 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      8 (MCO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      7 (MCO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPLACE TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2020 - 12/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [12/2021 - 10/2022]

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2020 - ] 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G2 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the P20 map light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G2-25 (SNS2) - P20-6 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G2-25 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2020 - 10/2022]

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - DCM [TELEPHONE TRANSCEIVER ASSEMBLY]) 
    1. Disconnect the G2 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G152 DCM (telephone transceiver assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G2-21 (MIN+) - G152-16 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      G2-22 (MIN-) - G152-32 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      G2-21 (MIN+) or G152-16 (MCO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G2-22 (MIN-) or G152-32 (MCO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G2-24 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM [TELEPHONE TRANSCEIVER ASSEMBLY] - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G152 DCM (telephone transceiver assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the P20 map light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G152-5 (MCVD) - P20-9 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      G152-6 (MCI+) - P20-8 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      G152-7 (MCI-) - P20-7 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      G152-5 (MCVD) or P20-9 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G152-6 (MCI+) or P20-8 (MCO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G152-7 (MCI-) or P20-7 (MCO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G152-23 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

  10. CHECK DCM (TELEPHONE TRANSCEIVER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the DCM (telephone transceiver assembly) with the connector(s) still connected.

      *a Component with harness connected
      (DCM [Telephone Transceiver Assembly])

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2020 - 10/2022]

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      G152-5 (MCVD) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 4 to 6 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      G152-23 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  11. CHECK MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (OUTPUT TO DCM [TELEPHONE TRANSCEIVER ASSEMBLY]) 
    1. Check the output waveform.

      (to Map Light Assembly)
      1. Remove the map light assembly with the connector(s) still connected.

        Refer to REMOVAL [06/2020 - ]

      2. Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 8 (MCO+) and 7 (MCO-) of the P20 map light assembly connector.
      3. Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below.
        Item Condition
        Measurement terminal P20-8 (MCO+) - P20-7 (MCO-)
        Tool setting 50 mV/DIV., 500 ms/DIV.
        Vehicle condition
        1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  12. CHECK DCM (TELEPHONE TRANSCEIVER ASSEMBLY) (OUTPUT TO RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the DCM (telephone transceiver assembly) with the connector(s) still connected.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2020 - 10/2022]

      (DCM [Telephone Transceiver Assembly])
    2. Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 16 (MCO+) and 32 (MCO-) of the G152 map light assembly connector.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Sound is input to the telephone microphone assembly when the user is closer than 125 mm from the telephone microphone assembly sound holes in the roof headlining holder cover.
    5. Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below.
      Item Condition
      Measurement terminal G152-16 (MCO+) - G152-32 (MCO-)
      Tool setting 50 mV/DIV., 500 ms/DIV.
      Vehicle condition
      1. Ignition switch ON
      2. Sound is input to the telephone microphone assembly when the user is closer than 125 mm (4.92 in.) from the telephone microphone assembly sound holes in the roof headlining holder cover.

      OK
