Removal [12/2021 - 10/2022]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [06/2020 - 10/2022]

    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [06/2020 - 10/2022]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - 10/2022]

    • Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
  3. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - ]

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 36

  5. REMOVE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      WARNING:
      • Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
      • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
    3. Pull out each connector with its connector lock pushed to disconnect the 3 connectors.

      Push the Connector Lock
      Pull Out the Lock Lever
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    4. Remove the 3 bolts and airbag ECU assembly.

      NOTE:

      If the airbag ECU assembly has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the airbag ECU assembly with a new one.
