Installation [06/2020 - 12/2021]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 
    1. Hold the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) with your dominant hand.

      NOTE:
      • Do not touch the connector.
      • Make sure foreign matter does not enter the terminals.

      *a Connector
    2. Hold the power distribution box assembly with your other hand.

      *a Fitting Surface
      NOTE:

      Make sure there is no foreign matter in the fitting surface.

    3. Set the guide of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) against the housing sidewall.

      HINT: 

      Make sure the angle between the power distribution box assembly and the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is 20° or more.

    4. Slide the guide of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) along the housing sidewall in the direction indicated by the arrow.

    5. Slide it until it contacts side A.

    6. Contact side A.
      NOTE:

      Do not contact side A with the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) too hard.

    7. While pressing the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) against side A (center of rotation) of the power distribution box assembly, rotate it until it enters the lock of the power distribution box assembly.

      HINT: 

      The center of rotation is the one that contacts surface A.

    8. Rotate it until it enters the lock of the power distribution box assembly.

    9. Press the pressing area of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

      Install in this Direction
      Pressing Area
      NOTE:
      • Do not insert with a force of 98 N (10 kgf, 22.0 lbf) or higher to prevent it from being damaged.
      • Do not hit on or put your weight on the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) when engaging the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
      1. Press it in one of the following ways.

        *a Press the 2 sides of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) with both hands. *b Press the center of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) with one hand.
        Place fingers or the palm of your hand here - -
      2. Check the engagement of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and the power distribution box assembly by the locking sound.
        NOTE:

        As the connector may not be connected securely, visually check the lock part engagement if a locking sound cannot be heard.

    10. Check that the back side of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and the rib surrounding the power distribution box assembly are the same height.

    11. Attach the claw to install the junction block bracket to the power distribution box assembly.

  2. INSTALL POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY WITH MAIN BODY ECU 
    1. Attach the wire harness clamp.

      *a Lever Connector - -
      Rotate in this Direction - -
    2. Connect the connector.
    3. Attach the claw to connect the 2 lever connectors.
      NOTE:

      Be sure to connect the connector securely.

    4. Attach the claw to install the power distribution box assembly with main body ECU to the connector holder.

    5. Attach the claw to install the power distribution box assembly with main body ECU with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf)

    6. Connect the 5 connectors.

    7. Connect the 3 connectors.

      *a Lever Connector
      Rotate in this Direction
    8. Attach the wire harness clamp.
    9. Attach the claw to connect the 2 lever connectors.
      NOTE:

      Be sure to connect the connector securely.

      *A w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System
      1. w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System:

        Connect the 5 connectors.

      2. w/o TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System:

        Connect the 4 connectors.

      3. Attach the wire harness clamp.
    11. w/o Outer Rear View Mirror Foot light:
      1. w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System:

        Connect the 4 connectors.

      2. w/o TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System:

        Connect the 3 connectors.

      3. Attach the wire harness clamp.
  3. INSTALL NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL TO COWL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the No. 3 instrument panel to cowl brace sub-assembly with the nut and bolt.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)

    2. Attach the guide and wire harness clamp.

  4. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [06/2020 - 10/2022]

  5. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [06/2020 - 10/2022]

    HINT: 

    When disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.
