Removal [06/2020 - 12/2021]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [06/2020 - 10/2022]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [06/2020 - 12/2021]

    • Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR ASSIST GRIP COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  5. REMOVE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL (for Driver Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  6. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL (for Front Passenger Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT BELT SEAL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  12. REMOVE DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH

  15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FIX WINDOW GLASS LH

  17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    1. Using a clip remover with its tip wrapped with protective tape, detach the clip.

    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, detach the clip and remove part of the front door weatherstrip LH.

  18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH (CENTER PILLAR SIDE) 

    HINT: 

    When removing the front door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side), if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the front door panel and front door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side) using a heat light.

    Standard

    Item Temperature
    Front Door Panel 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Front Door Window Frame Moulding LH (Center Pillar Side) 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the front door panel and front door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side) excessively.

    1. Using a heat light, heat the front door panel and front door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side).
    2. Put protective tape around the front door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side).

    3. Using moulding remover D, detach the clip.

    4. Using a scraper, start from the top and remove the double-sided tape from the back of the front door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side).

    5. Detach the guide and remove the front door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side).

  19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR PANEL PROTECTOR LH 
    1. Remove the front door panel protector LH.

  20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR UPPER WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH 
    1. Insert a 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.
    2. Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip as shown in the illustration.

      Area Measurement
      A 5.0 mm (0.197 in.)
      NOTE:

      Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

    3. Put protective tape around the front door upper window frame moulding LH.

    4. Lightly press the drill bit against the rivets to drill off the rivet flanges, and remove the 7 rivets.

      WARNING:

      Be careful of the drilled rivets, as they may be hot.

      NOTE:
      • Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.
      • Prying the rivets with the drill may damage the rivet installation holes or drill bit.
    5. Detach the guide to remove the front door upper window frame moulding LH from the front door frame.
    6. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled areas.
