Reassembly [06/2020 - 10/2023]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the guide to set the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
    2. Install the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly with the 6 bolts.

      Torque: 29 N.m (296 kgf/cm, 21 ft.lbf) 

  2. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH 
    1. Attach the guide and claw to install the rear bumper side support LH as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
    2. Install the clip.

    3. Install the 2 screws.
  3. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER LH

      Install in this Direction

      Attach the guide to install the rear bumper upper retainer LH to the rear combination light assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

  5. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  6. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Pass the wire harness into the vehicle and install the grommet as shown in the illustration.

    2. Align the guide and pin to set the rear combination light assembly LH.

      Push in this Direction
    3. Push the rear combination light assembly LH towards the vehicle front to attach the pin and guide as shown in the illustration.
    4. Install the 2 screws.
    5. Install the 2 screws.

    6. Insert your hand between the deck trim side panel assembly LH and the body and connect the connector.

  7. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  8. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Return the rear side of the deck trim side panel assembly LH to its original position.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21 [06/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21 [12/2021 - ]

  9. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  10. INSTALL LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23 [06/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23 [12/2021 - ]

  11. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 55 [06/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 55 [12/2021 - ]

  12. INSTALL REAR NO. 3 FLOOR BOARD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 61 [06/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 61 [12/2021 - ]

  13. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD LH 

    HINT: 

    When installing the rear bumper pad LH, heat the rear bumper piece LH and rear bumper pad LH using a heat light.

    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the rear bumper piece LH and rear bumper pad LH excessively.

    1. When reusing the rear bumper piece LH:
      1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper piece LH surface.
      2. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the rear bumper piece LH.
      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
        NOTE:
        • Installing the rear bumper pad LH with some double-sided tape remaining may cause poor adhesion. Perform this procedure until the tape is sufficiently removed.
        • Make sure to use a cloth when removing. Using a screwdriver, etc., may cause damage and poor adhesion.
        • Also, clean a new rear bumper piece LH surface.
    2. Apply primer to the rear bumper piece LH on the installation area of the rear bumper pad LH using a brush or felt.

      *a Mark-off Line
      Primer
      NOTE:
      • Replace the brush or felt if it is dirty or has become hardened.
      • Keep any painted surface free from primer.
      • If the primer contacts a painted surface, it may leave light primer marks. Therefore, use protective tape when using liquid primer.
      • Do not touch surfaces to which primer has been applied until the rear bumper pad LH has been attached.
    3. Let the primer dry sufficiently.
      NOTE:

      Do not touch applied surfaces until the primer is dry.

      Recommended drying time

      10 minutes or more (at 23°C (73°F))

    4. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper piece LH and a new rear bumper pad LH.
      NOTE:

      Do not heat the rear bumper piece LH and rear bumper pad LH excessively.

    5. Remove the release paper from the rear bumper pad LH.
      NOTE:

      After removing the peeling paper, do not touch the surface of the tape with your fingers or cotton work gloves.

    6. Install the rear bumper pad LH with the mark-off line on the rear bumper piece LH and install it.

      NOTE:

      The application strength of the rear bumper pad LH will weaken if reapplied. If reapplication is necessary, be sure to replace it with a new one.

      HINT: 

      Apply pressure so that it does not lift up from the bumper piece LH.

  14. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD LH 

    HINT: 

    When installing the rear bumper pad LH, heat the rear bumper piece LH and rear bumper pad LH using a heat light.

  15. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD (for LH Side) 

    HINT: 

    When installing the rear bumper pad, heat the rear bumper piece LH and rear bumper pad using a heat light.

    1. Install the back door garnish retainer.

  19. INSTALL REAR BUMPER CENTER GUARD 
    1. Attach the guide and claw to install the rear bumper center guard as shown in the illustration.
