DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

REMOVE EGR VALVE ASSEMBLY
Refer to REMOVAL [03/2023 - ]
REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD
Refer to REMOVAL [12/2022 - ]

DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel (engine room side) pump assembly.
Refer to PRECAUTION [03/2023 - ]

REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

WARNING:

To prevent serious injury due to fuel spray from the high-pressure fuel lines, always discharge fuel system pressure before removing any fuel system components.

Disconnect the ignition coil connector.
Using an 8 mm socket wrench, remove the bolt.
Using a 17 mm union nut wrench, loosen the 2 union nuts of the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly.
Loosen the 2 bolts of the fuel (engine room side) pump assembly.
Remove the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe and fuel (engine room side) pump assembly.

REMOVE FUEL (ENGINE ROOM SIDE) PUMP ASSEMBLY

NOTE:

When replacing the fuel (engine room side) pump assembly, it is necessary to replace the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly with a new one.

REMOVE FUEL PUMP SPACER GASKET

REMOVE FUEL PUMP LIFTER ASSEMBLY
