Removal [02/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [02/2024 - ]
  2. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [02/2024 - ]

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2024 - ]

  4. DISCONNECT MOTOR CABLE 

    See step  4

  5. REMOVE E.F.I. VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  6. REMOVE PCV PRESSURE SENSOR CHAMBER 

    See step  6

  7. REMOVE FUEL HOSE PROTECTOR 

    See step  7

  8. REMOVE FUEL PUMP PROTECTOR

  9. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel (engine room side) pump assembly.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [02/2024 - ]

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    To prevent serious injury due to fuel spray from the high-pressure fuel lines, always discharge fuel system pressure before removing any fuel system components.

      1. Detach the clamps and disconnect the vacuum transmitting hose assembly.
      2. Using a 17 mm union nut wrench, loosen the 2 union nuts of the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly.
      3. Loosen the 2 bolts of the fuel (engine room side) pump assembly.
      4. Remove the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly and fuel (engine room side) pump assembly.
  11. REMOVE FUEL (ENGINE ROOM SIDE) PUMP ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    When replacing the fuel (engine room side) pump assembly, it is necessary to replace the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly with a new one.
