Ambient Temperature Sensor Circuit [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR(THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY)
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Check the ambient temperature displayed on the combination meter assembly.
    3. Check ambient temperature of the vehicle.
    4. Check the difference between the displayed temperature and ambient temperature.

      OK

The ambient temperature displayed on the combination meter assembly almost matches the actual ambient temperature.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    OK

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK

    HINT:

The circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - ]

    Result:

    NG

    See step  2

  2. VISUALLY CHECK AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR(THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY)
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Visually check the ambient temperature sensor(thermistor assembly) for dirt or damage.
      NOTE:

Do not touch the sensor tip.

      OK

The ambient temperature sensor(thermistor assembly) is not dirt or damage.
