SRS Warning Light does not Come ON [09/2022 - 11/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY 
    1. Measure the auxiliary battery voltage with the ignition switch off.

      Standard Voltage

      11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE OR RECHARGE AUXILIARY BATTERY 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTOR 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    3. Check that the connector is properly connected to the combination meter assembly.

      OK

      The connector is properly connected.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    CONNECT CONNECTOR PROPERLY 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the combination meter assembly connector.

      *1 Combination Meter Assembly
      *2 Airbag Sensor Assembly
      *3 Wire Harness
    2. Check that the terminals of the connector are not deformed or damaged.

      OK

      The terminals are not deformed or damaged.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - AUXILIARY BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

      (to Combination Meter Assembly)
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I4-6 (IG+) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
    4. Turn the ignition switch off.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I4-1 (EP) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      I4-2 (ES) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

      *1 Combination Meter Assembly
      *2 Airbag Sensor Assembly
      *3 Wire Harness
    2. Connect the combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the airbag sensor assembly connector.
    4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
    5. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    6. Approximately 6 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to ON, check the condition of the SRS warning light.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Turns off for 10 seconds, and then illuminates A
      Turns off for 10 seconds, and then remains off B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - 11/2022]

    Result: 

    B 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - 11/2022]
