Removal [02/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE BACK WINDOW STAY ASSEMBLY LH 
    WARNING:
    • Do not perform work if the back door glass is not securely supported.
    • The back door glass could fall, resulting in injury.

    NOTE:
    • Avoid touching the piston rod as possible to prevent foreign matter from attaching to it. Be sure to hold the cylinder while servicing.
    • Do not wear cotton gloves or other similar materials when handling the piston rod. Fibers may attach to the rod and result in gas leaks.

      Insert in this Direction Remove in this Direction
      1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, slightly raise the stop rings as shown in the illustration.
        WARNING:

        Remove the back window stay assembly LH while supporting the back door with one hand.

        NOTE:

        Do not remove the stop ring. When removed the stop ring, make sure to replace with a new one.

        HINT: 

        Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Use the same procedure for the other side.
  2. REMOVE BACK WINDOW STAY BOLT 

    HINT: 

    Only perform this procedure only when removing and installing the back window stay bolt.
