Removal [02/2024 - ]: Procedure

NOTE: When removing parts with double-sided tape applied, heat the portion of the parts with tape residue with a heat light if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove.

WARNING:

• Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
• Touching the heat light may result in burns.
• Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

   1. Put protective tape around the No. 1 rear name plate.
   2. Heat the adhesive of the No. 1 rear name plate using a heat light.
   3. Remove the No. 1 rear name plate using the following procedure.

      1. Insert piano wire between the back door outside garnish sub-assembly and No. 1 rear name plate.

      HINT: 

      Be careful of the boss positions.

      2. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to the piano wire ends.

      3. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the No. 1 rear name plate to the back door outside garnish sub-assembly.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the back door outside garnish sub-assembly.

   1. Put protective tape around the No. 2 back door emblem assembly.
   2. Heat the adhesive of the No. 2 back door emblem assembly using a heat light.
   3. Remove the No. 2 back door emblem assembly using the following procedure.

      1. Insert piano wire between the back door panel and No. 2 back door emblem assembly.

      2. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to the piano wire ends.

      3. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the No. 2 back door emblem assembly to the back door panel.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the back door panel.
