Reassembly [02/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
  2. INSTALL NO. 2 BLACK OUT TAPE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. INSTALL SCREW GROMMET 
  4. INSTALL REAR DOOR DUST PROOF SEAL 
  5. INSTALL HOLE PLUG 
  6. INSTALL REAR DOOR PANEL CUSHION 
  7. INSTALL REAR DOOR LOWER OUTSIDE MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  8. INSTALL OUTSIDE MOULDING RETAINER 
  9. INSTALL OUTSIDE MOULDING SET LH 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [02/2024 - ]

  10. INSTALL REAR DOOR WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH (CENTER PILLAR SIDE) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
  11. INSTALL REAR DOOR BELT MOULDING LH 
  12. INSTALL REAR DOOR NO. 2 WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    NOTE:

    When installing the rear door No. 2 weatherstrip LH, heat the vehicle body and rear door No. 2 weatherstrip LH using a heat light.

    Standard Value

    Part Temperature
    Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Rear Door No. 2 Weatherstrip LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the rear door No. 2 weatherstrip LH excessively.

      Double-sided Tape - -
      1. Clean the surface of the vehicle body.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

        2. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

        3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

        NOTE:
        • Installing the rear door No. 2 weatherstrip LH with some double-sided tape remaining may cause poor adhesion. Perform this procedure until the tape is sufficiently removed.
        • Make sure to use a cloth when removing. Using a screwdriver, etc., may cause damage and poor adhesion.
      2. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and a new rear door No. 2 weatherstrip LH.
      3. Attach the clip and double-sided tape to install the rear door No. 2 weatherstrip LH.

        HINT: 

        Apply pressure so that it does not lift up from the vehicle body.

  13. INSTALL REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    NOTE:

    When installing the rear door weatherstrip LH, heat the vehicle body and rear door weatherstrip LH using a heat light.

    Standard Value

    Part Temperature
    Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Rear Door Weatherstrip LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

      Double-sided Tape - -
      1. Clean the surface of the vehicle body.

        1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

        2. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

        • Installing the rear door weatherstrip LH with some double-sided tape remaining may cause poor adhesion. Perform this procedure until the tape is sufficiently removed.

      2. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and a new rear door weatherstrip LH.
      3. Attach the clip and double-sided tape to install the rear door weatherstrip LH.

        HINT:

  14. INSTALL REAR DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH

      *A When reusing the bolt - -
      Clean the thread Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent.
      1. Clean the bolt hole in the vehicle body.
      2. When reusing the bolt:
        1. Clean the threads of the bolt.
        2. Apply adhesive to the threads of the bolt.

          Adhesive

          Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent.

      3. Install the rear door check assembly with the 2 nuts and bolt.

        Bolt 

        Torque: 27 N.m (275 kgf/cm, 20 ft.lbf) 

        Nut 

        Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf) 

  15. INSTALL REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
  16. INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Install in this Direction MP grease
      1. Apply MP grease to the sliding parts on the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH.
      2. Attach the guide and claw as shown in the illustration.
      3. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, install the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH with the "TORX" screw.

        Torque: 4.0 N.m (41 kgf/cm, 35 in.lbf) 

  17. INSTALL REAR DOOR REAR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD 
  18. INSTALL REAR DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD 
  19. INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER

      1. Attach the claw to install the rear door outside handle cover.
      2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, install the rear door outside handle cover with the "TORX" screw.

        Torque: 4.0 N.m (41 kgf/cm, 35 in.lbf) 

  20. INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH 
  21. INSTALL DOOR LOCK WIRING HARNESS SEAL 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
  22. INSTALL REAR DOOR LOCK WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
  23. INSTALL REAR DOOR LOCK CHILD PROTECTION COVER LH 
  24. INSTALL REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY

      MP grease - -
      1. Apply MP grease to the sliding parts on the rear door window regulator assembly.
      2. Install the rear door window regulator assembly with the 4 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

        Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf) 

      3. Connect the connector.
  25. INSTALL REAR DOOR GLASS CHANNAL FILLER

      *a Front Side *b R End
      1. Install the rear door glass channel filler to the rear door glass sub-assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

        Standard

        Area Dimension
        A 5.0 mm (0.197 in.)
  26. INSTALL REAR DOOR GLASS CHANNEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      *a Front Side *b R End
      1. Apply soapy water to the inside of the rear door glass channel sub-assembly LH.
      2. Using a plastic-faced hammer, tap the rear door glass channel sub-assembly LH onto the rear door glass sub-assembly LH to install the rear door glass channel sub-assembly LH as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Be careful not to damage the rear door glass sub-assembly LH or rear door glass channel sub-assembly LH.

        Standard

        Area Dimension
        A 5.0 mm (0.197 in.)

      *a MP Grease - -
      1. Apply MP grease to the sliding areas of the rear door glass channel sub-assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

        Standard

        Area Specified Condition
        A 157 mm (6.18 in.)
        B 25 mm (0.984 in.)
  27. INSTALL REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Move in this Direction - -
      1. Connect the connector.
      2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal and turn the ignition switch to ON.

        Refer to INSTALLATION [02/2024 - ]

      3. Move the rear door window regulator assembly to the bottom position.

      Install in this Direction - -
      1. Turn the ignition switch off and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

        Refer to REMOVAL [02/2024 - ]

      2. Disconnect the connector.
      3. Insert the rear door glass sub-assembly into the rear door panel as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Do not damage the rear door glass sub-assembly.

      4. Install the rear door glass sub-assembly LH to the rear door window regulator assembly.
  28. INSTALL REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW WEATHERSTRIP LH 
  29. INSTALL REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW GLASS LH 
  30. INSTALL REAR DOOR NO. 2 FRAME GARNISH LH 
  31. INSTALL REAR DOOR REAR LOWER WINDOW FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove in this Direction Install in this Direction
      1. Peel back the rear door weatherstrip LH until the screw hole can be seen.
      2. Install the rear door rear lower window frame sub-assembly LH with the screw.
      3. Install the 2 bolts.

        Torque: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf/cm, 75 in.lbf) 

      4. Return the rear door weatherstrip LH.
  32. INSTALL REAR DOOR GLASS RUN LH 
  33. INSTALL REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH 
  34. INSTALL REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

      *a Reference Point - -
      Butyl Tape - -
      1. Apply new butyl tape to the rear door panel.
      2. Install the rear door service hole cover according to the reference points on the rear door panel.
        NOTE:

        Securely install the rear door service hole cover preventing wrinkles and air bubbles.

      3. Attach the clamp.
      4. Connect the 2 connectors.
  35. INSTALL REAR DOOR REAR BELT SEAL LH 
  36. INSTALL REAR DOOR NO. 1 VENT SEAL LH 
  37. INSTALL REAR DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH 
  38. INSTALL WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR (w/o Illumination) 
  39. INSTALL REAR DOOR WIRE LH (w/ Illumination) 
  40. INSTALL REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
  41. INSTALL COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
  42. INSTALL REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH REAR DOOR UPPER ARMREST BASE PANEL LH 
  43. INSTALL REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
  44. INSTALL REAR DOOR ARMREST COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
  45. INSTALL REAR DOOR UPPER TRIM COVER LH 
  46. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [02/2024 - ]

  47. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    HINT: 

    When disconnecting and reconnecting the auxiliary battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.

    Refer to AUTOMATIC LEARNING CHART [02/2024 - ]

  48. INITIALIZE POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM 

    Refer to REGISTRATION [02/2024 - ]

  49. INSPECT POWER WINDOW OPERATION 

    Refer to OPERATION CHECK [02/2024 - ]

  50. INSPECT POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION 

    Refer to OPERATION CHECK [02/2024 - ]
