Removal [02/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [02/2024 - ]

    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [02/2024 - ]
  2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2024 - ]

  3. REMOVE NO. 3 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  4. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

      1. Disconnect the 3 airbag connectors.
        NOTE:

        When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

        HINT: 

        Refer to How to Connect or Disconnect Airbag Connector:

        Refer to HOW TO CONNECT OR DISCONNECT AIRBAG CONNECTOR [02/2024 - ]

      2. Detach the clamp to remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire.
  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:
    • When storing the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      1. Remove the 2 screws.
      2. Lean the instrument panel safety pad assembly and detach the hook.
      3. Detach the hook to remove the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.
