Removal [02/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [02/2024 - ]
  2. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [02/2024 - ]

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2024 - ]

  4. DISCONNECT MOTOR CABLE

  5. REMOVE E.F.I. VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  6. REMOVE PCV PRESSURE SENSOR CHAMBER

  7. REMOVE FUEL HOSE PROTECTOR

  8. REMOVE PURGE VSV (DUTY VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  9. REMOVE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE BRACKET

  10. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

  11. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY GUARD

  12. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [02/2024 - ]

  13. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE 
    1. NOTE:

      If fuel intrudes into the combustion chamber, there may be adverse effects to the engine main body.

      1. Detach the clamp.
      2. Remove the 2 bolts and fuel delivery pipe with the 4 port fuel injector assemblies from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
        NOTE:

        Be careful not to drop the port fuel injector assemblies when removing the fuel delivery pipe.

  14. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY SPACER

  15. REMOVE INJECTOR VIBRATION INSULATOR

  16. REMOVE NO. 5 ENGINE WIRE

  17. REMOVE PORT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    • Attach a tag or label with the corresponding cylinder number to each port fuel injector assembly so that they can be installed to their original locations.
    • Cover the port fuel injector assemblies with plastic bags to prevent damage and contamination.
