Replacement [11/2022 - 09/2024]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Engine Under Cover Air Guide) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  3. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE UNDER COVER AIR GUIDE (w/ Engine Under Cover Air Guide) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  4. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

  5. DRAIN MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL 
    1. Remove the manual transmission filler plug and gasket.

    2. Remove the drain plug and gasket to drain the manual transaxle oil.

      NOTE:

      The gasket must be replaced with a new one, as this will lead to oil leaks if it is not changed.

      HINT: 

      The drain plug has a groove for draining oil, so oil can be drained by the drain plug loose without removing the drain plug to prevent oil splashing into the surrounding area.

    3. Install a new gasket and the drain plug.

      Torque: 39.2 N.m (400 kgf/cm, 29 ft.lbf) 

  6. ADD MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL 
    1. Add manual transaxle oil until the oil level is between 0 and 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the bottom lip of the manual transmission filler plug opening.

      *a 0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.197 in.)

      Manual Transaxle Oil

      Toyota Genuine Manual Transmission Gear Oil "LV GL-4 and SAE 75W" or "API GL-4 and SAE 75W"

      Standard Capacity

      w/ LSD 

      2.0 liters (2.1 US qts, 1.8 Imp. qts)

      w/o LSD 

      2.1 liters (2.2 US qts, 1.8 Imp. qts)

      NOTE:

      Using manual transaxle oil other than the specified oil may cause abnormal noise or vibration, or damage the transfer of your vehicle.

    2. Install a new gasket and the manual transmission filler plug.

      Torque: 39.2 N.m (400 kgf/cm, 29 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • When adding manual transaxle oil, make sure that the vehicle is level.
      • An excessively large or small amount of manual transaxle oil may cause problems.
      • After adding manual transaxle oil, drive the vehicle and recheck the oil level.

  7. INSPECT FOR MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL LEAK 
  8. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 75

  9. INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE UNDER COVER AIR GUIDE (w/ Engine Under Cover Air Guide) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 78

  10. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Engine Under Cover Air Guide) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 83

  11. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 77
