Steering Pad Switch Circuit [01/2019 - 09/2022]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [01/2019 - 03/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [03/2019 - 09/2022]

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [01/2019 - 03/2019] , or refer to INSPECTION [03/2019 - 09/2022]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [01/2019 - 03/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2019 - 09/2022] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [01/2019 - 03/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [03/2019 - 09/2022]

    2. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [01/2019 - 03/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2019 - 09/2022] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (OUTPUT VOLTAGE)

    *a Front view of wire harness connector
    (to Spiral Cable Sub-assembly)
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I82-10 (+DP2) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 4.8 to 5.2 V
      I82-11 (+DP) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 4.8 to 5.2 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the I55 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I55-24 (SWG) - I82-4 (EAU) Always Below 1 Ω
      I55-1 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [01/2019 - 03/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2019 - 09/2022] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I4 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I82-10 (+DP2) - I4-15 (MSTI) Always Below 1 Ω
      I82-11 (+DP) - I4-32 (MSM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I82-10 (+DP2) or I4-15 (MSTI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I82-11 (+DP) or I4-32 (MSM+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [01/2019 - 03/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2019 - 09/2022] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
