DTC B1508-19: Turn Signal/Hazard Flasher Circuit Current Above Threshold [01/2019 - 09/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK SYMPTOMS 
    1. Check the problem symptoms.

  2. CHECK LH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the A83 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink, the headlight unit assembly LH is malfunctioning.

  3. CHECK LH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Connect the headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the L9 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    3. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink, a component of the outer rear view mirror assembly LH is malfunctioning.

  4. CHECK LH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Remove the side turn signal light assembly LH from outer rear view mirror assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    2. Connect the wire harness connector to the outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    3. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If all LH side turn signal lights do not blink, the outer rear view mirror assembly LH is malfunctioning.

    REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ] 

  5. CHECK LH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Connect the outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.*1
    2. Connect the headlight assembly LH connector.*2
    3. Disconnect the O104 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    4. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink, the rear combination light cord LH is malfunctioning.

      1. *1: w/ Side Turn Signal Light
      2. *2: w/o Side Turn Signal Light

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT CORD LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [01/2019 - 03/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2019 - ]

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LH SIDE EACH PARTS - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A83 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the L9 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.*
    3. Disconnect the I5 combination meter assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A83-2 (B), L9-5 (B)* or I5-1 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O104-3 (B) or I5-5 (TRNL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1. *: w/ Side Turn Signal Light

    Result:

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [01/2019 - 03/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2019 - 09/2022]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  7. CHECK RH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the A82 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights other than the front turn signal light blink, the headlight unit assembly RH is malfunctioning.

  8. CHECK RH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Connect the headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the K10 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    3. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink, a component of the outer rear view mirror assembly RH is malfunctioning.

  9. CHECK RH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Remove the side turn signal light assembly RH from outer rear view mirror assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    2. Connect the wire harness connector to the outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    3. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If all RH side turn signal lights do not blink, the outer rear view mirror assembly RH is malfunctioning.

    REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

  10. CHECK RH SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Connect the outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.*1
    2. Connect the headlight assembly RH connector.*2
    3. Disconnect the O103 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    4. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink, the rear combination light cord RH is malfunctioning.

      1. *1: w/ Side Turn Signal Light
      2. *2: w/o Side Turn Signal Light

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RH SIDE EACH PARTS - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A82 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the K10 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.*
    3. Disconnect the I5 combination meter assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A82-2 (B), K10-5 (B)* or I5-2 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O103-3 (B) or I5-6 (TRNR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [01/2019 - 03/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2019 - 09/2022]
