Push Start Switch Illumination Circuit [09/2022 - 11/2022]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Smart Key > Active Test 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Start SW Light Power Supply Push start switch illumination OFF or ON -

      Body Electrical > Smart Key > Active Test 

      Tester Display
      Start SW Light Power Supply

      OK

      Push start switch illumination comes on.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2022 - 11/2022] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT PUSH START SWITCH 
    1. Inspect the push start switch.

      for M20A-FKS: Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

      for G16E-GTS: Refer to INSPECTION [09/2022 - ]

      for 2ZR-FXE: Refer to INSPECTION [01/2019 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE PUSH START SWITCH 

    for M20A-FKS: Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    for G16E-GTS: Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    for 2ZR-FXE: Refer to REMOVAL [01/2019 - ]

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PUSH START SWITCH - CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the I167 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      STANDARD RESISTANCE (FOR GASOLINE MODEL):

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I35-5 (SWIL) - I167-20 (SWIL) Always Below 1 Ω
      I35-3 (GND) - I167-30 (AGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      I35-5 (SWIL) or I167-20 (SWIL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I35-3 (GND) or I167-30 (AGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      STANDARD RESISTANCE (FOR HV MODEL):

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I119-5 (SWIL) - I167-20 (SWIL) Always Below 1 Ω
      I119-3 (GND) - I167-30 (AGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      I119-5 (SWIL) or I167-20 (SWIL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I119-3 (GND) or I167-30 (AGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    Result:

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - 11/2022]
