Interior Light Circuit [09/2022 - 11/2022]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Illuminated Entry System Turns on the lights that are controlled by the illuminated entry system* OFF or ON Perform the Active Test with the door linked switch of the map light assembly on and switch of the No. 1 room light assembly in the off (DOOR) position.
      1. *: Refer to System Description for the lights that are controlled by the illuminated entry system.

        Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION [09/2022 - 11/2022] 

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test 

      Tester Display
      Illuminated Entry System

      OK

      All lights that are controlled by the illuminated entry system come on.

      Result

      NG (Map light does not come on) B
      NG (No. 1 room light assembly does not come on) C
      NG (Map light and No. 1 room light assembly does not come on) D

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the map light assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [09/2022 - 11/2022]

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - 11/2022]

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 8D power distribution box assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T6-4 (+B1) - 8D-11 Always Below 1 Ω
      T6-4 (+B1) or 8D-11 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK 

    Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [06/2018 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. INSPECT NO. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the No. 1 room light assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [09/2022 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY - POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 8D power distribution box assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T22-5 (B) - 8D-11 Always Below 1 Ω
      T22-5 (B) or 8D-11 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the T6 map light assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T22-1 (CTY) -T6-2 (RLMP) Always Below 1 Ω
      T22-1 (CTY) or T6-2 (RLMP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      T22-5 (B) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  7. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the map light assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [09/2022 - 11/2022]

      Result

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - 11/2022]

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 8D power distribution box assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T6-4 (+B1) - 8D-11 Always Below 1 Ω
      T6-4 (+B1) or 8D-11 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the I85 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T6-3 (DOOR) - I85-5 (ILE) Always Below 1 Ω
      T6-3 (DOOR) or I85-5 (ILE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - 11/2022]
