IG Signal Circuit [09/2022 - 11/2022]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY - POWER SOURCE AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the 8A, 8D and 8K power distribution box assembly connectors.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      8K-1 - Body ground Always*1
      Ignition switch off*2
      11 to 14 V
      8D-17 - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V
      8D-17 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

      *1: for Gasoline Model

      *2: for HV Model

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      8A-8 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      8D-8 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the power distribution box assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - 11/2022]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      8K-1 - MB-27 (IGR) Auxiliary battery not connected to 8D-17 - 8A-8 or 8D-8 10 kΩ or higher
      8K-1 - MB-27 (IGR) Auxiliary battery positive (+) → 8D-17
      Auxiliary battery negative (-) → 8A-8 or 8D-8
      Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - 11/2022]

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY
