Removal [03/2019 - 09/2022]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION TUBE WITH PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [03/2019 - 09/2022] 

  2. DRAIN FUEL 
  3. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [01/2019 - 11/2022]

  4. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER LH (w/ Cover) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [01/2019 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [09/2020 - 09/2022]

  5. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER RH (w/ Cover) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [01/2019 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [09/2020 - 09/2022]

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut, 4 clips and No. 1 fuel tank protector sub-assembly from the fuel tank assembly.

  7. DISCONNECT CHARCOAL CANISTER OUTLET HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the charcoal canister outlet hose from the fuel tank filler pipe sub-assembly.

  8. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK TO FILLER PIPE HOSE 
    1. Loosen the clamp, then disconnect the fuel tank to filler pipe hose from the fuel tank assembly.

  9. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL EVAPORATION TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the No. 1 fuel evaporation tube sub-assembly from the fuel pipe.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [03/2019 - 09/2022]

  10. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly from the fuel pipe.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [03/2019 - 09/2022]

  11. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    The fuel tank assembly is very heavy. Be sure to follow the procedure described in the repair information, or the fuel tank assembly may fall off the engine lifter.

    1. Disconnect the fuel tank breather tube from the fuel tank filler pipe sub-assembly.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [03/2019 - 09/2022]

    2. Support the fuel tank assembly using an engine lifter.

      HINT: 

      Using height adjustment attachments and plate lift attachments, keep the fuel tank assembly horizontal.

    3. Remove the 4 bolts, No. 1 fuel tank band sub-assembly LH and No. 1 fuel tank band sub-assembly RH.

    4. Lower the engine lifter to remove the fuel tank assembly.
      NOTE:
      • Be careful not to drop the fuel tank assembly.
      • When removing the fuel tank assembly, tilt it slightly to prevent it from interfering with the surrounding parts.
  12. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL EVAPORATION TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 4 clamps to remove the No. 1 fuel evaporation tube sub-assembly from the fuel tank assembly.

  13. REMOVE CHARCOAL CANISTER OUTLET HOSE 
    1. Disengage the 2 clamps to remove the charcoal canister outlet hose from the fuel tank assembly.

  14. REMOVE FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 3 clamps to remove the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly from the fuel tank assembly.

  15. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL TANK CUSHION 
    1. Remove the 2 No. 2 fuel tank cushions from the fuel tank assembly.
