Front Passenger Side Seat Belt Warning Light does not Operate [01/2019 - 09/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Occupant Detection > Clear DTCs 

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Occupant Detection > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    B 

    GO TO OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [01/2019 - 09/2022] 

    Result: 

    A

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs 

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    B 

    GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [01/2019 - 04/2020]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [04/2020 - 06/2021]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [06/2021 - 09/2022] 

    Result: 

    A

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Occupant Detection / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Occupant Detection > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Passenger Buckle SW Front passenger buckle switch Unset, Set or NG Unset: Seat belt not fastened
      Set: Seat belt fastened
      NG: Data is not determined      		 -

      Body Electrical > Occupant Detection > Data List

      Passenger Buckle SW

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Unset or Set is displayed on the Techstream according to the front passenger seat belt condition A
      Unset or Set is not displayed correctly on the Techstream according to the front passenger seat belt condition B
      NG is displayed on the Techstream C

    Result: 

    B 

    REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [01/2019 - 03/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2019 - 09/2022] 

    Result: 

    C 

    REPLACE OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [01/2019 - 03/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2019 - 09/2022] 

    Result: 

    A

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Data List

      Right side Buckle SW RH buckle switch Unset, Set or NG Unset: Seat belt not fastened
      Set: Seat belt fastened

      Unset or Set is displayed on the Techstream according to the front passenger seat belt condition A

    REPLACE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [01/2019 - 03/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [03/2019 - 09/2022]
