Speaker Circuit [06/2018 - 01/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. CHECK SPEAKER (OPERATION CHECK) 
    1. Enter the "System Check Mode" screen. Refer to Check Speaker in Operation Check.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [06/2018 - 03/2019]

    2. Perform the operation check above and determine the speaker that is not operating.

      Result

      HINT: 

      If sound cannot be heard from any speaker, inspect all of them.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY - DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)) 
    1. Disconnect the I71 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the K1 and L1 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.
    3. Disconnect the I76 and I77 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.
    4. Disconnect the I72 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I71-1 (FR+) - I72-2 (SPI+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I71-6 (FR-) - I72-3 (SPI-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I72-5 (SPO+) - I76-4 (TWR+) Always Below 1 Ω

  4. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front No. 1 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the front No. 1 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - 01/2019]

      Result

    Result:

    REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]

  5. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Remove the DCM (telematics transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 01/2019]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (DCM (Telematics Transceiver))

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (SPI+) - 5 (SPO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (SPI-) - 6 (SPO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (SPI+) - 3 (SPI-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

    2. Inspect the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - 01/2019]

      OK

      Malfunction disappears.

    1. Disconnect the I71 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the M4 and N4 rear speaker assembly connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      I71-4 (RR+) - M4-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      I71-9 (RR-) - M4-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      I71-3 (RL+) - N4-2 Always Below 1 Ω

      I71-4 (RR+) or M4-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I71-9 (RR-) or M4-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY - FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I54 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the K1 and L1 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.
    3. Disconnect the I74 and I75 front No. 3 speaker assembly connectors.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I54-15 (FR+) - I74-4 (+TW) Always Below 1 Ω
      I54-30 (FR-) - I74-2 (-TW) Always Below 1 Ω

    1. Disconnect the I54 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the I6 and I7 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.
    3. Disconnect the I72 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      I54-14 (TWR+) - I72-2 (SPI+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I54-29 (TWR-) - I72-3 (SPI-) Always Below 1 Ω

    2. Disconnect the M4 and N4 rear speaker assembly connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
