Removal [03/2019 - 09/2022]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [03/2019 - 06/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [06/2021 - 09/2022]

  2. DISCONNECT CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the clip from the clevis pin.

      *A for Hatchback
      *B for Sedan
    2. Remove the clevis pin to disconnect the clutch master cylinder assembly from the clutch pedal sub-assembly.
  3. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY (w/ Clutch Pedal Stroke Sensor Assembly) 
    1. Disconnect the clutch pedal stroke sensor assembly connector.

      *a Clutch Pedal Stroke Sensor Assembly Connector
      *b Clutch Switch Start Assembly Connector
    2. Disconnect the clutch start switch assembly connector.
    3. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the wire harness from the clutch pedal support assembly.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 4 instrument panel bracket from the clutch pedal support assembly and instrument panel reinforcement assembly.

    5. Remove the 2 nuts and clutch pedal support assembly from the vehicle body.

    6. Remove the clip nut from the clutch pedal bracket sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY (w/o Clutch Pedal Stroke Sensor Assembly) 
    1. Disconnect the clutch switch assembly connector.

      *a Clutch Switch Assembly Connector
      *b Clutch Start Switch Assembly Connector
    2. Disconnect the clutch start switch assembly connector.
    3. Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the wire harness from the clutch pedal support assembly.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 4 instrument panel bracket from the clutch pedal support assembly and instrument panel reinforcement assembly.

    5. Remove the 2 nuts and clutch pedal support assembly from the vehicle body.

    6. Remove the clip nut from the clutch pedal bracket sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE CLUTCH SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Clutch Pedal Stroke Sensor Assembly)

  6. REMOVE CLUTCH START SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL STROKE SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Clutch Pedal Stroke Sensor Assembly)

  8. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL SPRING 
    1. Move the clutch pedal sub-assembly to the full stroke position.

    2. Remove the clutch pedal spring from the clutch pedal sub-assembly and clutch pedal bracket sub-assembly.
  9. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Mount the clutch pedal sub-assembly in a soft jaw vise.
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the clutch pedal sub-assembly in the vise.

    2. Remove the bolt, nut, clutch pedal sub-assembly and clutch pedal bracket sub-assembly from the clutch pedal support sub-assembly.

  10. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL SPRING HOLDER 
    1. Remove the clutch pedal spring holder from the clutch pedal bracket sub-assembly.

  11. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL TURNOVER BUSHING 
    1. Remove the clutch pedal turnover bushing from the clutch pedal sub-assembly.

  12. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL SHAFT COLLAR 
    1. Remove the 2 clutch pedal bushings and clutch pedal shaft collar from the clutch pedal sub-assembly.

  13. REMOVE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS BUSHING 
    1. Using SST and a hammer, remove the clutch master cylinder push rod clevis bushing from the clutch pedal sub-assembly.

  14. REMOVE CLUTCH PEDAL PAD 
    1. Remove the clutch pedal pad from the clutch pedal sub-assembly.
