On-Vehicle Inspection [01/2019 - 09/2022]: Procedure

- INSPECT CLUTCH PEDAL HEIGHT
- Turn back the floor carpet.
- Check that the clutch pedal height is correct.

178.1 to 196.1 mm (7.01 to 7.72 in.)
for EC65
174.4 to 192.4 mm (6.87 to 7.57 in.)
- If the result is not as specified, bleed the clutch line and perform the inspection again.
- If the result is not as specified after bleeding the clutch line, replace the clutch master cylinder assembly.
- Install the floor carpet.
- INSPECT CLUTCH PEDAL FREE PLAY
- Check that the clutch pedal free play is correct.
*a Clutch Pedal Free Play HINT:
Pay close attention to the change in resistance to distinguish clutch pedal free play while performing the inspection.
- Depress the clutch pedal until clutch resistance begins to be felt.
Clutch pedal free play (Reference)
3 to 15 mm (0.118 to 0.591 in.)
- If the result is not as specified, bleed the clutch line and perform the inspection again.
- If the result is not as specified after bleeding the clutch line, replace the clutch master cylinder assembly.
- Depress the clutch pedal until clutch resistance begins to be felt.
- Check that the clutch pedal free play is correct.
- INSPECT CLUTCH RELEASE POINT WARNING:
When checking the clutch release point, ensure that the vehicle is secure.
- Check the clutch release point.
*a Release Point *b Full Stroke End Position *c Distance from Clutch Pedal Stroke End Position to Release Point *d Clutch Pedal Stroke - Be sure to apply the parking brake and secure the wheels using wheel chocks.
- Start the engine and run it at idle.
- Without depressing the clutch pedal, slowly move the shift lever to reverse until the gears contact.
- Gradually depress the clutch pedal and measure the stroke distance from the point that the gear noise stops (release point) up to the full stroke end position.
Standard Distance
25 mm (0.984 in.) or more (from clutch pedal stroke end position to release point)
Clutch pedal stroke at 200 N (20 kgf, 45.0 lbf)

If the distance is not as specified, perform the following procedure:
- Check the clutch pedal height.
- Check the clutch pedal free play.
- Bleed the clutch line.
- Check the clutch cover assembly and the clutch disc assembly.
- Check the clutch release point.
