DTC P0365: Camshaft Position Sensor "B" Circuit (Bank 1) [03/2019 - 11/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

    *a Front view of wire harness connector
    (to Cam Position Sensor (for Exhaust Camshaft))

    HINT: 

    Make sure that the connector is properly connected. If it is not, securely connect it and check for DTCs again.

    1. Disconnect the cam position sensor (for exhaust camshaft) connector.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C113-3 (VC2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 4.5 to 5.5 V
      C113-1 (VVE+) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 3.0 to 5.0 V
    4. Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C113-3 (VC2) - C113-1 (VVE+) Ignition switch off 1.425 to 1.575 kΩ
      C113-2 (VVE-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK SENSOR INSTALLATION AND CONDUCT VISUAL INSPECTION (CAM POSITION SENSOR (FOR EXHAUST CAMSHAFT))

    1. Visually check the cam position sensor (for exhaust camshaft) for damage.
    2. Check the cam position sensor (for exhaust camshaft) installation.

      OK

      The cam position sensor (for exhaust camshaft) does not have any damage and is installed properly.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    SECURELY REINSTALL CAM POSITION SENSOR (FOR EXHAUST CAMSHAFT). Refer to  INSTALLATION [01/2019 - 11/2022] 

    Result:

  3. INSPECT CAMSHAFT HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY (EXHAUST CAMSHAFT) 
    1. Inspect the timing rotor of the exhaust camshaft.

      OK

      Camshaft timing rotor does not have any cracks or deformation.

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the camshaft housing sub-assembly.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [01/2019 - 11/2022]

      Result

      Proceed to

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE CAM POSITION SENSOR (FOR EXHAUST CAMSHAFT). Refer to  REMOVAL [01/2019 - 11/2022] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CAMSHAFT HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 8 [03/2019 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 8 [09/2022 - 11/2022] 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CAM POSITION SENSOR (FOR EXHAUST CAMSHAFT) - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the cam position sensor (for exhaust camshaft) connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C113-1 (VVE+) - C77-80 (EV1+) Always Below 1 Ω
      C113-2 (VVE-) - C77-112 (EV1-) Always Below 1 Ω
      C113-3 (VC2) - C77-111 (VCE1) Always Below 1 Ω
      C113-1 (VVE+) or C77-80 (EV1+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C113-2 (VVE-) or C77-112 (EV1-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C113-3 (VC2) or C77-111 (VCE1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2019 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - 11/2022]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
