Front Fog Light Circuit [06/2018 - 01/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK OPERATION (TAILLIGHTS) 
    1. Check the operation of the taillights.

      OK

      Taillights operate normally.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [06/2018 - 01/2019] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

      Front Fog Light Relay Front fog lights OFF or ON Light control switch in tail position

      Front fog light relay operates. (Front fog lights come on.)

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [06/2018 - 01/2019]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE - FR FOG RELAY) 
    1. Remove the FR FOG relay.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      5 (FR FOG relay) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FR FOG RELAY INPUT VOLTAGE) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (FR FOG relay) - Body ground Light control switch in tail or head position 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

  5. INSPECT FR FOG RELAY 
    1. Inspect the FR FOG relay.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

    REPLACE FR FOG RELAY 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FR FOG RELAY - FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A43 fog light assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the A42 fog light assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (FR FOG relay) - A43-2 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (FR FOG relay) - A42-2 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (FR FOG relay) or A43-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (FR FOG relay) or A42-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FR FOG RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 4E instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (FR FOG relay) - 4E-52 Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (FR FOG relay) or 4E-52 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  8. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    *a Component without harness connected
    (Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly)
    - -
    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 01/2019]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4E-52 - MB-7 (FFGO) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 01/2019] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 01/2019] 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FR FOG RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 4F instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (FR FOG relay) - 4F-11 Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (FR FOG relay) or 4F-11 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 01/2019]
